Troopy Essential Spare Parts for Overlanding

After months and months gathering lots of information from social media and youtube repair videos etc.. plus great help of other hands on experienced Troopy owners and travelers also full time living on the roads in our Troopy, finally I gathered a comprehensive list as the most important essential spare parts and tools which they are worth to carry in our Troopy during our overlanding trips.

Some countries might have limited stock or their stock holder might be far away from your driving spots, so makes sense to be able to carry some critical items all the time, it’s totally depends how you drive your vehicle and how you often service your rig plus how old is your Troopy to take which item with you on board, but let’s be honest, some of the items you might carry all the time, probably will never face any needs to change them, at least for some travelers, but WHAT IF? so this last question mark will force any vigilant traveler to think twice and invest for a simple insurance and ease of mind when you go far and far away from civilization and your comfort zone.

In this post I listed some spare parts with part number from Toyota or Terrain Tamer brand, section 1) of this list is the ones Im carrying almost all of the items and not holding lots of your storage space, but for the items I listed for 150k intervals still I dont need them or if I get close to 150k intervals I will order and carry them.

Also at section 2) of this post you will have another good list of essential tools which sofar I found them useful to carry, the tools which usually you don’t get them in a basic traveling packs or maintenance toolboxes, but you need to have them handy for road maintenances and the works you might need to do on your Troopy,

in third section of this post I have linked to three different 70 series maintenance documents from different countries, which these documents helped me to make a maintenance schedule for my own Troopy based on my travelling style, so pls referer to last section which I will mentioned my maintenance schedule and intervals to keep the rig all the time healthy and in good working order.

At the end my suggestion: “Do not waste your Time and Money to find a workshop in a new country to do your general maintenances, you will save enormes amount of headaches by doing your routine maintenances on time on the roads, I promise you in some countries they will hold you for days and days if they book you in and they will charge you a lot to do an untidy job on your beloved tiny home on wheels, so as much as possible do your own maintenances on-time and on the roads with much better quality of workmanship and save your time and money without changing your daily travel pastes”

PART 3) Troopy maintenance / interval schedules:

In different countries land cruiser 70 maintenance guide has been set differently and Toyota got different interval maintenance schedule for different countries, in below link I shared the three main sources for you as reference,

1) Download New Zealand

2) Download Australia

3) Download Europe/Africa/Middle east.

4) Download LC70 User Manual 2016-2021

These three different documents will show you some different maintenance schedule for those region based on their usage, but after all combining them all gave me a good interval schedule plan for my traveling style which at the end of this section Im sharing it with you, basically I have an excel sheet on my google cloud base drive to keep track of each maintained item very tidy and on-time, almost all general maintenances are getting done on the roads when we camp somewhere flat with a good weather to work on the Troopy.
